Went to the Baltimore Museum of Art today with my class to view the new exhibit on Photography since the 1960’s. Larry Clark’s Tulsa photographs were remarkable. Calla mentioned that in the years that she’s been visiting his exhibits, she’s never seen the whole set together in one place. After going away to study photography, he went back to Tulsa, addicted to drugs, and photographed his friends. The whole installation really brings the viewer into an intimate setting, experiencing things you feel like you shouldn’t be.. or things you shouldn’t have to look at.
If you ever have a free day, go see the exhibit. The BMA is free now, and will be for a while, so please take advantage of it while you can.
